Change a client’s package

Move a client to a different package or price. What happens depends on whether the old and new packages are paid or free.

Steps

From → to	Result
Paid → paid	Their Stripe subscription switches to the new price at the next renewal. Nothing is charged today and there's no proration.
Paid → free	Their subscription with you is cancelled immediately and they carry on with access through the free package.
Free → paid	They move to Awaiting payment and receive an email with a checkout link. Access continues once they've paid.
Free → free	The package label changes and nothing else.
